In short

Dangerous goods from Sheremetyevo are accepted by 47 of 55 Russian airports and 30 of 32 foreign airports in our network, per Aeroflot's table of July 30, 2026. For each city it shows the status, whether advance approval is needed, and which of the 9 IATA DGR classes the warehouse can store.

Dangerous goods from Sheremetyevo (SVO), Moscow, can be sent to an airport marked "accepts and stores" in Aeroflot's table. Under the IATA DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations), such goods fall into 9 classes. Per the table of July 30, 2026, 47 of 55 Russian airports in our network and 30 of 32 foreign ones are marked "accepts and stores". Below are tables by city and an explanation of the columns: status, approval, classes.

CargoBooking is an air freight forwarder in Moscow working since 2019 and an Aeroflot cargo agent since 2019. More in About CargoBooking. Write to us in English or Russian.

What do the status and approval columns mean?

For each airport, the table shows an acceptance status, whether prior approval is required, and two lists of classes: which classes the airport handles and which of them it can store in the warehouse. The lists are not the same. If a class is in the "accepted" list but not in the "stored" list, Aeroflot's summary table simply has no storage mark for that class. This is not a ban on storage. Of the 47 Russian airports marked "accepts and stores", only 13 list classes for storage. The other 34 show "no mark" in the "stored" column. If your class is accepted but not listed as stored, ask your manager when you book whether the warehouse will hold the cargo or the consignee must collect it right away.

"Prior approval with Aeroflot" in the table means acceptance of this category is agreed in advance with the responsible Aeroflot unit. As the agent, we file the approval request. The table does not give approval times for specific airports, so book dangerous goods early, not on the day of departure. Eight Russian airports and two foreign airports in our network have "no mark" in every column. Aeroflot's summary table says nothing about them, but this does not mean "not accepted": ask your manager when you book.

What are classes 1.4S and 7, and why are they special?

Of the 9 DGR hazard classes, the table most often lists classes 2 (gases), 3 (flammable liquids), 4 (solids), 5 (oxidizing substances), 6 (toxic substances), 8 (corrosive substances) and 9 (miscellaneous dangerous goods). Two are marked separately: 1.4S (a division of low-hazard explosives within class 1) and class 7 (radioactive material). In Vladivostok (VVO), Novosibirsk (OVB), Krasnoyarsk (KJA) and Khabarovsk (KHV), these classes need separate prior approval with Aeroflot. In Saint Petersburg (LED), prior approval is needed for all classes.

At some airports, a note to the table allows class 7 cargo to be handed over right at the aircraft side, with Aeroflot approval, not only through the warehouse. Arkhangelsk (ARH), Irkutsk (IKT), Murmansk (MMK) and Perm (PEE) have this note, for example. The ELI/ELM mark refers to lithium batteries (lithium-ion and lithium-metal). In Grozny (GRV), Kazan (KZN), Kemerovo (KEJ), Mineralnye Vody (MRV), Orsk (OSW) and Ulyanovsk (ULV), shipping them needs Aeroflot approval. For Grozny, Kemerovo, Orsk and Ulyanovsk, the classes column has only the asterisks of this footnote and names no other classes. Ask your manager when you book what cargo is accepted there.

Where in Russia can you send dangerous goods?

Based on Aeroflot's summary dangerous goods table of July 30, 2026 (valid for September 2026). Every cell is copied as is; "no mark" replaces "-" and "no data". In the class columns, a single asterisk (*) refers to the class 7 note and a double asterisk (**) to the ELI/ELM note in the last column.

For Baku (GYD), besides approval with Aeroflot, a written permit from government authorities is needed. For Bangkok (BKK), information on dangerous goods goes to Aeroflot 48 hours in advance, for Ganja (GNJ) 24 hours in advance. In Cairo (CAI), dangerous goods are accepted for import only.

To EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) we ship like within Russia. Outside the EAEU we only carry commercial shipments of companies that have their own customs broker: we handle the flight, not the customs clearance.

What to check before shipping dangerous goods

  • Find the hazard class and UN number in the safety data sheet of the substance. Approval cannot start without them.
  • Find your airport in the tables above: status, whether approval is needed, and which classes are accepted.
  • Do not treat "no mark" as a ban. Check with your manager when you book.
  • If your class is accepted but not listed as stored, ask whether the cargo can stay in the warehouse if the flight arrives late.

Next step: find your city in the table. When you book, give your manager the hazard class and UN number of the cargo. As Aeroflot's agent, we will put together the documents and file them for approval. To get a price for your shipment, use the online calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send dangerous goods by air to Yakutsk?
Yes. In Aeroflot's summary table, Yakutsk airport (YKS) has the status "accepts and stores", and advance approval is needed. The accepted classes include 1.4S and class 7, which need separate prior approval with Aeroflot.
What does "no mark" mean in the dangerous goods table?
Aeroflot's summary table has no entry for this airport or class. It means there is no data, not that the cargo is banned. 8 of the 55 Russian airports in our network have no marks at all. Check with your manager when you book.
Can I send dangerous goods abroad, for example to Dubai?
Yes. Of the 32 foreign airports in our network, 30 have the status "accepts and stores", including Dubai (DXB). For class 1.4S and class 7, Dubai requires prior approval and a permit from the authorities.
What are dangerous goods class 1.4S and class 7?
1.4S is a division of low-hazard explosives within class 1. Class 7 is radioactive material. Aeroflot's table marks them separately, and at many airports they need separate approval.
