Cargo for Aeroflot flights from Sheremetyevo airport (SVO) is accepted by Moscow Cargo, the cargo terminal at Sheremetyevo. It is in Khimki, on Sheremetyevskoye Highway, property 28, and works 24/7. The order is: pass, security check at the entry, queue to the gate, handover of the cargo with the air waybill and the acceptance form, then documents in the customer hall. The terminal accepts general cargo for Aeroflot flights no later than 6 hours before departure. We recommend bringing it 8 hours before.
CargoBooking is an air freight forwarder in Moscow working since 2019 and an Aeroflot cargo agent since 2019. We deliver our clients' cargo to the Moscow Cargo terminal ourselves. More in About CargoBooking. Write to us in English or Russian.
Where do I bring cargo at Sheremetyevo?
To the Moscow Cargo terminal. The address from the terminal's How to get there page: 141432, Moscow Region, Khimki, Sheremetyevskoye Highway, property 28. GPS coordinates: 55.983288, 37.431001. Data as of October 19, 2026.
According to the terminal contacts page, the terminal works 24/7. The "Send cargo" phone line also answers around the clock. The same page lists phone numbers for questions about cargo drop-off.
If you ship through us, our drop-off point is listed on our contacts page (in Russian): Sheremetyevskoye Highway, property 28 building 1, the Moscow Cargo pass office building. Your manager will tell you the exact entry point and the pass procedure when they confirm your booking.
How do I get a pass to the terminal?
A pass for a vehicle and driver, or for a visitor, can be issued in two ways (as described on the Send cargo page):
- in advance, through a personal account on moscow-cargo.com;
- on site, at the pass office before the entry to the territory.
For the pass you need:
- full name of the driver or visitor, their identity document and mobile phone number;
- the vehicle's license plate number and its registration certificate;
- the company name;
- the full list of air waybills for the cargo in this vehicle. The waybills must be booked under the airline's rules.
Accepted identity documents: a Russian passport or temporary ID card, a foreign citizen's passport, a refugee certificate, a military ID.
While the pass is being issued, the vehicle can wait at a guest parking lot outside the territory. P1 is for cars and mid-size trucks, P2 for heavy trucks, and P4 also for cars.
How does the drop-off work at the terminal?
- Check at the entry. The vehicle is inspected at the checkpoint. Then the system puts it in an electronic queue and assigns a gate. The vehicle number and gate appear on the screen on the terminal facade and come by SMS to the phone number from the pass. If no gate is assigned yet, wait for the call at parking lot P3.
- Gate. When called, drive to your gate and give the Moscow Cargo staff the air waybill and the completed "Cargo acceptance form. Security declaration". If a representative of the shipper delivers the cargo, a power of attorney to hand over cargo is required. Templates of the form and the power of attorney are on the Document templates page.
- Unloading. The cargo is unloaded from the vehicle onto green warehouse pallets in the drop-off area. Terminal staff can unload it too, for a fee.
- Customer hall. Move your vehicle away from the loading bay. If you still need to finish documents, move the vehicle to parking lot P5, where you can stay no longer than 30 minutes. In the customer hall, hand in the cargo documents, get an invoice and pay for the terminal services. Documents for domestic cargo must be handed in no later than 120 minutes after the last pallet is accepted (inspected). If you are late, the terminal charges a fee for missing this deadline.
If the cargo is small and you came without a vehicle, it is simpler: get a pass at the pass office and go to the lobby of entrance No. 3 of the terminal. Call a specialist at extension 4018 from the phone installed there.
The terminal's own standards are on its Service standards page: a vehicle waits in the electronic queue no more than 30 minutes, service at the gate also takes no more than 30 minutes, the queue in the customer hall takes no more than 10 minutes, and documents for one waybill are accepted in no more than 3 minutes. The terminal warns that in peak season service may take longer.
The cargo must be packed and labeled, or it will not be accepted.
How many hours before departure do I deliver cargo?
For Aeroflot and Rossiya Airlines flights, the terminal stops accepting cargo and documents this long before the scheduled departure:
| Type of cargo | Latest drop-off |
|---|---|
| general cargo | 6 hours before |
| valuable cargo | 4 hours before |
We ask you to bring cargo no later than 8 hours before departure: about 2 more hours go to the pass, the queue, the gate and the documents. If the cargo misses the deadline, it will fly on the next flight.
Bringing cargo earlier than 48 hours before departure does not pay off. At the Moscow Cargo warehouse, general cargo is stored free for three days, counting the drop-off day. After that, storage is paid. Valuable and perishable cargo has a shorter free period.
What do we do if you ship through CargoBooking?
We book space on an Aeroflot flight, issue the air waybill as the airline's cargo agent and put the cargo on the nearest suitable flight. Your manager confirms the flight and the time by which to bring the cargo.
You can bring the cargo to Sheremetyevo yourself. Or you can order a pickup: within Moscow we collect the cargo by truck and bring it to the terminal. If a courier service suits you better, we will meet a Yandex courier or any other service. Pickups are arranged by the manager: they cannot be ordered on the website.
After drop-off you get the air waybill number. With it, the manager can tell you the cargo status. You can also check cargo from Sheremetyevo yourself, as described in our guide on tracking air cargo in Russia.
